Commercial Truck Driving Instructor

The Career and Technical Education Department is recruiting for a part-time Commercial Truck Driving Instructor.  Training will be held at the Victoria College facility in Gonzales.  Instructional duties include compliance with the Entry Level Driver (ELDT) mandate. 

This position is responsible for providing instruction to students in a meaningful classroom and laboratory learning environment.

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Active/current Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Current medical examination certificate issued by the Department of Transportation (DOT)
• Three years over the road related work experience
• Expertise in 49 CFR Part 380, Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) mandate
• Current Hazardous Materials endorsement or ability to obtain within 120 days after offer of employment

• Associate degree or higher
• Endorsements (tanker, doubles, triples)

• Exhibit keyboarding skills
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to twenty pounds
• Sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Bend, kneel, reach
• Utilize telephone system
