Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join our logistics team. The Driver will be responsible for transporting goods and passengers in a safe and timely manner, adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to safety.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods and passengers to specified destinations.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company policies, including hours of service, vehicle inspections, and safety protocols.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and deliveries using electronic logging devices (ELDs) as required by DOT regulations.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is properly secured and protected from damage.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
  • Report any accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle issues to the appropriate personnel immediately.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns or questions from customers professionally and promptly.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring the safety of passengers and goods.
  • Assist with general maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicle.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license - non CDL with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a professional driver.
  • Must meet all DOT requirements, including a valid DOT medical card.
  • Ability to pass a DOT drug and alcohol test.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 100 lbs.
  • Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as loading and unloading cargo.
  • Visual acuity to operate a vehicle and read road signs and navigation systems.
  • Manual dexterity for operating vehicle controls and equipment.
