Position Summary:
The full-time Delivery Driver is responsible for the distribution of plumbing, electrical and lighting supplies from the assigned warehouse location to customer locations. You will report to the assigned warehouse location each morning to receive daily route assignment. Responsible for ensuring that receiving functions are being completed according to company procedures, quality, and productivity standards to provide our customers with the correct material, in the correct quantity, and at the requested arrival time.
Essential Functions:
- Drivers are required to load the assigned truck for delivery, drive to customer location, unload truck and deliver products; average weight of products being between 50-100 lbs.
- Recording information on delivery manifest
- Adhere to and bring resolution to service suggestions
- Daily cleaning of assigned truck
- Represent Wiseway in a professional demeanor
- Understand and follow company policies and procedures.
- Perform all assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner adhering to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required or requested by management.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and verified safe driving record
- Adhere to and follow all safety rules of the road and driving responsibilities
- Must be able to push/pull pallet jack or cart weighing up to 350lbs.
- Able to load and unload products using a two (2) wheel dolly or carrying by hand; average weight of products between 50-100 lbs.
- Able to perform repetitive motions of bending, squatting, stooping and standing; to include the motion of getting in and out of truck from driver seat, removing product from truck, stabilizing on mode of delivery via two-wheel dolly or carrying by hand.
- Ability to work outside and deliver products over rough terrain, uneven grounding and at times hazardous due to weather conditions.
- Truck drivers are required to have a DOT physical only as part of their job assessment to perform the required duties/NO CDL REQUIREMENT.
Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent; three (3) years of warehouse related and customer service experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year truck driver experience and customer service
- Organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; representing his/herself in a professional and courteous manner; ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally; ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
- Proficient computer skills preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Work from the assigned truck; outdoor exposure during the workday; temperature is not controlled
- Required to stand and walk for long periods of time
- May require working extended hours or weekends to meet business needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move objects up to 70 pounds
- Must be able to push/pull pallet jack or cart weighing up to 350lbs.
- Able to perform repetitive motions of bending, squatting, stooping, and standing, including the motion of placing and removing the product from shelves, stabilizing on the mode of delivery, or carrying by hand.
- Ability to perform driving/delivery duties via company truck; perform repeated motions of bending, squatting, stooping, and standing; including motion of getting in and out of the truck from the driver seat, removing the product from the truck, stabilizing on the mode of delivery via two-wheel dolly or carrying by hand.
