JOB OVERVIEW



  1. As an employee of Grace Logistics, a Class A CDL Truck Driver is a valued team member of our Freight team.

  2. This job will consist of flatbed hauling mainly in the Southeast and Midwest.

  3. Days of work will typically be one or more days each week but subject to change depending on freight demands.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Operate trucks rented and leased by the company to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.

  2. Operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle on the road throughout the week and be home daily and/or on weekends.

  3. Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.

  4. Perform all duties in conformance with DOT standards.

  5. Maintain all certifications required by DOT.

  6. Keep all company property entrusted to you in clean and excellent condition.

  7. Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve overall team operations.


 


REQUIREMENTS:



  1. Must have a valid Class A CDL.

  2. Must have 2 or more years of experience as a Class A CDL truck driver.

  3. Ability to operate equipment safely at all times.


 


COMPETENCIES:



  1. Flatbed experience preferred (training is available)

  2. Knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.

  3. Ability to plan routes to ensure the best use of time.

  4. Ability to make overnight runs as required by shipping needs (preferred).

  5. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public.

  6. Ability to communicate effectively.

  7. Ability to work independently.


 


PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE POSITION:



  1. Requires prolonged sitting, driving, talking on a hands-free device, truck vibration, and MHE (material handling equipment) operations.

  2. Must be able to strap and tarp loads which may require climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, walking, and lifting.

  3. Must be able to work and drive in severe weather conditions; heat and cold; snow and rain; wet or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles.

  4. Must be able to lift/carry a minimum of 60 pounds or more.
