WAXIE Sanitary Supply is looking for a customer service focused and safety oriented local route delivery driver to join our team in the Portland area.

 

WAXIE's drivers are the “promise keepers” of the organization and make sure that our product gets delivered safely, securely, and on time. Our fleet of route drivers operate on a Monday through Friday schedule and drive well-maintained, professional vehicles to deliver products locally, that keep our customers’ facilities cleaner, healthier and safer. What’s better than that?

 

This position is full time , 6am to 230pm with the opportunity for overtime, Monday through Friday with weekends and holidays off.

Salary Range: $21.53/hr (NON CDL) to   $26/hr (CDL)

 

 









Essential Duties






Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Daily compliance with all applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, state regulations, OSHA, and company policies and procedures to include but not limited to the following:
    • Maintaining a valid CDL or non-CDL based upon the position held
    • Perform all required pre-trip and post-trip inspections (DVIR’s)
    • Report all accidents immediately to management
    • Setting and re-setting of HAZMAT placards
    • Maintain proper endorsements as required:
      • Class A CDL; Health Card, HAZMAT, Airbrakes, and Doubles if required
      • Class B CDL; Health Card, HAZMAT, and Airbrakes
      • Class C non-CDL; Health Card only
  • Knowledge of delivery areas with the ability to read maps and follow directions.
  • The ability to read delivery documents and accurately deliver the correct products and quantities to the right customer location.
  • Provide customer service through timely deliveries and courteous behavior while on the road or at customer locations.
  • Load and unload company products while ensuring the safe handling of products to prevent damage of product or product theft.
  • Accurately accounting for all Cash on Delivery orders.
  • On-demand, communicate with Customer Service regarding order changes, delivery delays, and or delivery failures.
  • Conduct joint delivery accounting with customers on all deliveries to ensure the right products are delivered unless directed by the manager to self sign for the delivery.
  • Organize all delivery documents and process through Data Processing upon completion of each route.
  • Act as a customer service representative by communicating customer concerns, changes in inventory usage patterns and shipping instructions.
  • As required, perform various warehouse functions.
  • Provide a high level of driver professionalism when operating any company vehicle to protect public safety while enhancing the company image.
  • Wear a company issued uniform & personnel protective equipment as required.
  • Inform Warehouse Manager immediately of any vehicle malfunction while driving.
  • Other duties as assigned.








Qualifications






  • Previous delivery driver experience operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Ability to navigate directions and read maps.
  • Ability to pass drug screen/background check.
  • Provide and maintain a clean driving record (MVR).
  • Hold a current and valid driver license non-CDL or CDL in the state of your employment.
  • Excellent verbal and written customer service skills.
  • Ability to independently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • The ability to consistently operate a commercial motor vehicle in a safe manner.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
